I have collected here recent submissions from the Concerned Waterways Alliance, in celebration of the five year mark for the Alliance. During those five years the Alliance has grown in knowledge and understanding about the success and failings of water policy here in Victoria and an awareness of the urgency to address the enviromental deficits our waterways are suffering. The Waterways Network was a founding member and has been there every step of the way in the evolution of something that filled a gap as our beautiful southern basins of Victoria (south of the Divide) were being ignored and became, in my quite humble opinion, one of the most thoughtful places for thinking about waterways in the entire country, The Alliance was the first not-for-profit environmental group to speak up about the impacts of data centres on our scarce water resources. There are so many submissions that I have chosen three that are of the broadest national relevance.
1 CWA Submission to the National Environmental Standard for Community Engagement
2 CWA Submission to the Draft Third Victorian Waterway Management Strategy
3 CWA Submission to the National Water Reform 2026 Enquiry
